What to Wear on Mizzou Game Day

As trends change over the years, game day looks do too. During my time at Mizzou, I was always wanted to push the limits of what was considered “the norm” on game day. I loved putting together unexpected looks and found myself eyeing up and appreciating others’ ensembles. To show my unfaltering Mizzou spirit (and to feel relevant again as a washed up alum), I decided to round up a ton of my favorite would-be game day outfits for a Saturday of tailgating, hanging with Truman the Tiger or kissing the 50 yard line at Faurot.

If you’re a current student wondering what to wear on SEC game day or an alum at a loss for what to wear to Mizzou homecoming, I’ve got you covered! While you won’t see any classic tees here, a lot of these pieces pair well with more traditional crewnecks, tees and other emblem-clad swag you’d normally see at a Missouri football game.

Animal Print

I will always be a fan of animal print on game day. It’s always in style but especially easy to find these days. I found a few tiger print items that seem like must-haves, but zebra and cheetah seem to work as well. I’ve linked two of my favorite head-turning numbers – both of which would look fierce on their own or with a white t-shirt layered underneath.

B&W Patterns

Black and white patterned dresses, jumpsuits and tops are great for game day, plus you can wear them over and over again for various occasions. For footwear, I love the idea of black platform Doc Martens or white chunky tennis shoes to add some edge to a flirty dress.

Fun Pants + Patterned Skirts

Pair any of these fierce bottoms with a white tee, button up short-sleeve top or a tasteful Mizzou tee. I’ve broken the links below into fun pants, patterned skirts and potential tops.

The LBD

Any Mizzou fan/fanshionista (fanshionista? woof, thats bad..) knows the little black dress is a game day classic. Just add tiger ears and you’re set for the day.

Colorblock Sweater

Blocked sweaters are cute and cozy for chillier games later in the season. Wear one of these chunky sweaters tucked into a jean skirt or with black jeans and sleek, black boots. Bonus points for studs!

Non-Traditional Ways to Layer

I love the idea of cold weather games. First of all, you don’t have to worry about roasting in the sun. Second of all, spiked hot chocolate. I rest my case. What I don’t love about those games? Masking whatever cute outfit I put together with a bland sweater with zero personality. But don’t fret, I’ve linked a few of my favorite ways to layer on game day, whether that be a bulky yet fierce animal print cardigan, a sherpa jean jacket, a chain print satin top that also looks dope tied around your waist, or a plaid blazer featuring golden tones.

GameDay Accessories

While I’m a diehard fan of the Mizzou tiger ears, I’ve linked a few alternative accessories to make your game day outfit pop. Consider a mustard colored hat or chain patterned scarf wrapped around your neck or ponytail. Also, had to link these dope boots!
